I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of The Collie Association for inviting me to judge our beautiful breed at this well run and friendly show, also the exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me and their good sportsmanship on the day. My sincere thanks also go to my Ring Steward who did an excellent job of keeping me and the ring in good order. I really enjoyed my day and was pleased with the overall quality and standard of the dogs, I was pleased to see so many exhibits of breed standard type, harsh coats and correctly placed eyes, in short, a show of beautiful roughs, who could do a good day’s work.

1st - May’s Camanna Careerchangeing for Maqueeba – 7 year good sized sable and white boy who stood alone in this class, was well presented, pleasing head with good eye and expression, correct stop, good front assembly with deep chest, level topline, good length of tail and balanced throughout, in good coat, good bone, moved effortlessly round the ring. BVD
Minor Puppy Dog 2/0
1st – Blake’s Corydon The Visionary – 7 months sable and white well-coated boy of harmonious outline, loved his dark eye and expression, correct stop, well set on ears that he used, good reach of neck leading to level topline, excellent front, good substance, a confident mover and showed himself well. BPD
2nd – Durrant & Radford House’s Fivejay’s Sparkle Crackle - 8 month tri boy who also possessed a nice head and expression with correct stop and well balanced body but would not allow me to go over him. Less bone than (1). When standing he looked a picture but he lacked confidence in the ring compared to (1) and was not as settled. I am sure he will be able to regain his confidence in the future.
Puppy Dog 3/0
1st – Cooper’s Ambartr Hearts of Steel from Kelekona – 9 months good sized boy with rich tan shade to his sable and white coat. Very pleasing head, flat skull, well placed dark eye, correct stop, good reach of neck leading to level topline held well on the move. Well balanced front and rear with nice length of back, moved well for handler.
2nd – Blake’s Corydon World Vision – 7 months sable and white litter brother to (1) in MPD, equally as confident and well coated. Appealing head with correct stop, good dark eye, ears well set on and used, balanced outline, well set on tail, moved confidently like his brother.
3rd – Cooper’s Kelekona Hearts of Fire.
Junior Dog 1/0
1st – Williams’ Mejola Endeavour – 15 month old sable and white boy stood alone in this class. Loved his head, dark eye and sweet expression, correct stop, flat skull, ears used well, excellent front, good reach of neck leading to level topline. Well placed shoulders, balanced front and rear, well set on tail, neat feet, moved well round the ring.

1st – Flower’s Serenlas The Jokerman – 16 month old good sized sable and white boy stood alone in this class, another with correct harsh, well fitting coat, good length of back and well up on his legs. Classic head with flat skull, correct stop, dark well placed eye, correctly set and well-used ears, good reach of neck, excellent front and well placed shoulder, balanced front and rear, beautifully set on long tail, moved well round the ring in tune to his handler, liked this boy very much, will watch with interest as this boy matures. 1st – Hanson’s Jards Ring Presence – 5 year old shaded sable who presented an overall harmonious outline with correct and well fitting coat. Flat skull, dark well placed eye giving sweet expression but no mistaking this boy’s masculinity. Well placed correctly tipped ears which he used. Strong neck leading to good topline, well let down chest and good spring of rib, good angulations, moved effortlessly with drive round the ring, attentive to his handler.
2nd – Skinner’s Ladnar MakeItHappen for Nikal – 3 year old blue merle boy of good size and in good, correct, harsh coat which was nicely marked. Pleasing head with correct stop, dark eye and kind expression, well placed ears, good angulations front and rear, level topline, moved well, good length of tail with slight tendency to fly it in his exuberance. Moved with drive round the ring.
3rd – Holmes, Holmes and Lusty’s Blamorder Gold Plated.
4th – Ross’ Siluto Blue Wizzard at Amberwish.
Open Dog 4/2
1st – Williams’ Ch Mejola Top Gun – sable and white upstanding boy just short of his third birthday, this boy owned the ring. Balanced throughout, he has a classic head with flat skull and correct stop, well rounded muzzle, dark sweet eye, correctly tipped ears which he used well. His beautifully arched neck led into a back of good length and that slight rise over the loin rarely found nowadays. Good bone, deep chest and well sprung rib, excellent shoulder placement, well muscled, well let down hocks gave drive from the rear on his neat feet. Coat of correct texture, he was beautifully presented and attentive to his handler, moving with ease round the ring. I am sure this dog could have worked all day. Delighted that he went on to be placed RBIS. BD, BOB, RBIS.
2nd – Phillips’ Essanjay Against All Odds – 6 year old tricolour of good size and good bone, head a little stronger than I would like and eye not quite the almond shape I look for but a fraction rounder, would prefer a little more reach of neck. Well sprung rib and neat feet. Correct coat and was well presented, attentive to handler but unfortunately not giving his best today as he had a very slight limp when moving.

Veteran Bitch 4/1
1st – Lyall’s Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas VW ShCEx – 11 years old sable and white very feminine bitch who was immaculately presented and did not look her age. Pleasing head and expression, dark eye although could be a little more almond shaped, flat skull, correct stop, correct bite and gleaming white teeth, ears a little wide set but she used them well. Good reach of neck, level topline and correct length of back, good depth of chest, well balanced bitch who moved well with drive, very attentive to her handler she was sparkling with enjoyment at her day out and showed herself well. Overall presented a lovely outline and picture. BVB, BVIB.
2nd – Margetts’ Lynmead Lemonade for Collingvale JW – 7 year old blue merle very feminine bitch, smaller than (1), good head planes, correct stop, expressive dark almond eye, ears tipped over a little heavy, profuse coat that was well presented, held topline well on the move, tail well set on and of good length, moved ok but not with the exuberance of (1).
3rd – Skinner’s Samhaven Time Is Money With Nikal VW.
Minor Puppy Bitch 3/0
1st – Mellish’s Corydon Faithful Vision for Demelewis – 7 months shaded sable litter sister to (1) in MPD and (2) in PD and sharing same qualities, balanced front and rear, good head with dark almond eye, ears well placed and beautifully tipped, used well; good reach of neck, excellent topline, neat feet, well set on long tail, excellent presentation.
2nd – Blake’s Perfect Vision – litter sister to above, very similar to above as sable and white girl with good coat, nice head and ear set which she used well, beautiful dark almond eye and expression but would prefer slightly longer back as in (1), good angulations and topline, moved well, good bone.
3rd – Radford-House & Durrant’s Fivejays Sparkle Sapphire.
Puppy Bitch 4/1
1st – Cooper’s Kelekona Pearls of Hope – 9 months sable and white bitch, beautifully balanced and pleasing outline. Loved her head with dark almond sweet eye, correct bite and stop, flat skull good ear set, ears well used. Correct coat, good length of back and long well set tail, attentive to and in tune with handler, moved well on neat feet. BPB, BPIB
2nd – Flower’s Serenlas She’s On Trend – 9 months sable and white bitch with dark eye, sweet expression, flat skull, correct stop, used ears well, good angulations, balanced outline, good front and length of back, topline held on the move, neat feet, lovely tail set. Moved well round the ring. Liked both these two and they could have changed places on another day, unfortunately this girl lost out to (1) on the day as she flew her tail a little high on the move.
3rd – Hawkins and Foy’s Aretha Franklin du Domaine des Emeraudes.
Junior Bitch 4/1
1st – Williams’ Mejola Some Girls Do – Really liked this sable and white 15 month girl, litter sister to (1) JD. Good size and substance but still retaining femininity, classic head and dark almond well placed eye, flat skull, correct bite and well set and correctly tipped ears she used to her advantage. Excellent front, good reach of neck leading into level topline and good length of back, slight rise over loin, good angulations front and rear, well set tail carried well and moved with drive and attention to her handler. Lovely presentation. Another I will watch with interest and can foresee a bright future, as I can expect from this kennel. BB
2nd – Hanson’s Jards Cudmirrah Special – 14 months old tricolour girl of lovely type, very feminine, balanced outline, classic head with dark well placed almond eye, flat skull, ears well used but a fraction heavy on tipping, good reach of neck, good length of back and excellent front, moved with drive and good extension, tail set well and held well on move.
3rd - Shipp’s Tremaro Fantasy.

1st – Blake’s Corydon Perfect Vision.
Graduate Bitch 5/2
1st – Willians’ Mejola Edge of Glory – 15 month old sable and white girl of lovely feminine type, loved her head with flat skull and correct stop, dark almond shaped eyes and sweet expression, well placed ears used constantly, well balanced in body, well let down hocks, good chest and good topline with slight rise over loin, plush coat well presented and plenty of drive on the move.
2nd – Radford-House & Durrant’s Didek Moon River Through Fivejays – 3 year old pretty tri bitch of lovely type, good head, dark eye well placed, correct stop, she just did not use her ears today which spoiled the overall expression. Balanced outline, well let down hocks with drive on the move and topline held well, moved confidently round the ring.
3rd – Margetts’ Lynmead Designer Tipple For Collingvale
Post Graduate Bitch 2/1
1st – Shipp’s Tremaro Million Dollar Baby – very feminine sable and white bitch stood alone in this class, smaller in size, flat skull, dark almond eye, skull a little wide and ears set a little low but she did use them to her advantage, level topline held as she moved confidently for her handler. Good front and good angulations, neat feet, tail set on well.

1st – Radford -House & Durrant’s Kiss Me Kate Di Cambiano At Fivejays (Imp ITA) – 3 year old sable and white girl with excellent coat of correct texture stood alone in this class, pleasing head with dark almond eye, flat skull, ears set a little wide, balanced body, held topline well on move, long tail to hock carried well on the move completing the picture.

1st – Flower’s Serenlas Pumpkin Spice JW – 5 year old shaded sable girl who I have judged before, liked her a lot then as I do now, of good size and proportions, very feminine, dark almond eyes giving sweet expression, flat skull, ears well set and used throughout, good reach of neck leading into good topline with slight rise over loin, good length of back, excellent front and shoulder angulations, good length of tail carried well on the move completed the picture, I am sure this girl could have worked all day too. Pushed extremely hard in the Bitch Challenge but I felt the winner had a little more coat on the day. RBB
2nd – Cooper’s Corydon Agatha Cristal With Kelekona – 4 year old tricolour girl of nice size and proportions, balanced front and rear, her coat was sparkling white and jet black, correct texture, presented harmonious shape, well set flowing tail completed the picture. Classic head with neat well used ears, dark almond eye, flat skull, good topline, well laid back shoulder, well let down hocks and good drive from rear, attentive to her handler.
